We take in some select instruments/bows to sell on a commission basis. It is done on a ‘no sale, no fee’ basis. If you have an instrument/bow you would like to sell under this scheme, please ask for more details. Sorry, but we do not take in student quality instruments for this service.
Our approval scheme is available to all customers who are trying out instruments and bows with a view to purchase. We can arrange for items to be taken out of the shop for normally up to one week, subject to the terms stated below and a small insurance fee.
All instruments/bows taken on Approval remain the property of Ayres Violins until paid in full.
We reserve the right to invoice for purchase any items taken out on approval and not returned by the arranged return date.
Items taken on approval must be returned in the same condition as they went out. While items are covered by insurance until the return date, there is a £200 excess charge in the event of a claim. For any damage amounting to less than the excess amount, we reserve the right to charge for any repair costs.
The insurance does not cover instruments/bows left in an unattended vehicle or taken abroad.
Proof of identification will be required in order to take an instrument/bow on approval.
A small non-refundable insurance fee will be charged, the amount of which is dependent on the value of the instrument/bow being borrowed.
