Commission Sales

If you have an instrument or bow you wish to sell, we may be able to help through our Commission Sales service.  Please contact Paul Ayres in the first instance to arrange an appointment and bring with you the instrument or bow and any associated paperwork.  It may be necessary to undertake repair work, prior to offering the instrument or bow for sale, in order to present it at its best, and any such repair costs are payable before the instrument or bow is presented for sale in the shop.   Ayres Violins’ commission rate is 20% of the sale price plus VAT at 20% on the commission element.  Commission sales are undertaken on a “no sale, no fee” basis and you may request the return of your property at any time.

Please note that we do not take instruments or bows for sale on commission with a value of less than £2,000.00
